BOOZE — Mobile App Concept
Overview
BOOZE is a self-initiated app concept from the height of COVID — a single home for everything drinking culture, designed when the bars were closed. Find cocktail recipes to make at home, book and review local bartenders, discover nearby bars and their specialty menus, and order alcohol delivered to your door.
Highlights
- Grounded the concept in research — Instagram Stories polls to pressure-test demand, plus three user personas spanning home mixologists, social drinkers, and working bartenders.
- Mapped the full product: an information-architecture flowchart and wireframes covering sign-in, account history, recipes, bartender sourcing, and checkout.
- Designed the core experiences — recipe discovery to make drinks at home, a marketplace to book and review local bartenders, nearby bars with specialty menus, and doorstep alcohol delivery.
- Built the BOOZE brand from scratch — logo, color system, and a bold identity that leans into the fun of drinking culture.
- Wove in responsible-drinking messaging so the product champions the culture without ignoring the duty of care.
Role
Sole designer. Took it end to end — research and personas, information architecture, wireframes, UI, and brand — as a self-initiated concept.
Notes
BOOZE started as a lockdown thought experiment: bars were closed, everyone was mixing drinks at home, and nothing tied drinkers, bartenders, and local spots together. I used it to run a full product process end to end — research, IA, UI, and brand — while giving it real personality. It stayed a concept, but it's some of my favorite self-directed work.
